Privacy Policy

Each school that uses JustSchool decides what information it puts into its own workspace, who it gives access to, and how it uses that information for its own purposes. A school is responsible for having the authority, notices and permissions it needs to enter information about its staff, students and families, and for the accuracy of what it enters.

JustSchool provides the service that stores and processes that information on the school's behalf, and handles account, billing and security information for its own operation of the platform. This policy describes both.

If you are a student, parent, guardian or staff member and have questions about how your school uses your information, please ask your school first.

Depending on how your school uses JustSchool, this can include:

• Account information: your name, email address, sign-in method (email and password, or Google sign-in) and interface language. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider.
• School information: school name, web address, country, currency, time zone, language, motto, education system and logo.
• Staff information: name, staff code, contact details and employment date that a school records for its teachers and administrators, together with their role in the school.
• Student information: name, student ID, date of birth, contact details, admission date, status, class enrollment and an optional photo, as recorded by the school. Students who are given sign-in access use a school-issued student ID and password.
• Parent and guardian information: guardian name, relationship, email and phone number, and parent accounts, where a school uses those features (currently part of the Max plan).
• Academic records: attendance, lessons, homework and submissions, assessments, marks and results, and announcements created in the school's workspace.
• School financial records: fee types, charges assigned to students, payments recorded by the school, receipts, and expenses with optional receipt files. These are the school's own bookkeeping records; JustSchool does not collect school fees from families.
• Uploaded files: school logos, student photos, learning materials and expense receipts, kept in private storage.
• Subscription and billing information: your school's plan, subscription status and dates, and identifiers that link your school to our payment provider (such as customer and subscription references). Payment card details are entered with the payment provider and are not stored by JustSchool.
• Security and technical information: records of important actions taken in a school's workspace (who did what, and when), sign-in events, and technical data such as IP address, browser type and request details that our infrastructure providers keep to run and protect the service.
• Communications: emails we send you, such as account confirmation, password and invitation emails, and any message you send us.

We use information to:

• provide, operate and maintain JustSchool for schools;
• sign you in and keep accounts and school data secure;
• process subscriptions and billing for the platform;
• send service emails such as invitations, account confirmations and password resets;
• provide support and respond to requests;
• monitor reliability, fix problems and prevent misuse of the service; and
• meet legal obligations.

We do not sell school, staff, student or parent information, and we do not use it for advertising.

We use service providers to run JustSchool. They handle information only as needed to provide their service to us. The providers currently used are:

• Supabase — database, authentication and file storage.
• Vercel — hosting and delivery of the website and application.
• Dodo Payments — checkout and payment processing for JustSchool subscriptions. Card details are handled by Dodo Payments. See Billing & Cancellation.
• Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google.
• Resend — sending transactional emails such as invitations and account messages.

This list may change as JustSchool evolves, and we will keep this policy up to date.

Inside a school, information is visible according to each person's role — for example owners and administrators, teachers, students, and linked parents. Other schools cannot see a school's information.

We may disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights, safety or security of people or the service, or in connection with a reorganization or transfer of the service.

We use measures designed to protect information, including keeping each school's data separated and access-controlled by role in the database, private storage for uploaded files, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and leaving card handling to a payment provider.

No online service can guarantee absolute security, so we cannot promise that information will never be accessed without authorization. Schools can help by using strong passwords and giving access only to people who need it.

We keep information for as long as it is needed to provide the service to a school, to meet legal, accounting and security needs, and to resolve disputes. We have not published fixed retention periods.

Ending a trial or subscription limits access to paid features; it does not by itself delete a school's data. A school can ask us to delete its data (see below). Some records, such as billing and security records, may need to be kept longer where we have a legal or legitimate reason.

Because a school controls its own records, students, parents and staff should first contact their school to access, correct or delete information about them. Schools can update much of this information inside JustSchool.

If you have an account with JustSchool, or need help with a request, contact us (see Contact below). We will review the request in line with applicable law and, where the information belongs to a school, with the school's involvement. We may need to verify your identity before acting.

JustSchool is used by schools in different countries, and our service providers may store and process information in countries other than the one where you live. Laws in those countries may differ from the laws where you live.

JustSchool is a school platform. Information about students, including minors, is entered and managed by their school; JustSchool does not collect it directly from children, except where a school gives a student sign-in access to their own account. Students see only what their school allows.

We do not run advertising or analytics tracking on the platform. Schools are responsible for any parental notice or consent that applies to their students.

JustSchool uses only the cookies and browser storage needed to sign you in and remember your settings. See the Cookie Policy for details and to change your preferences.

We may update this policy as the service or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. For significant changes we will make reasonable efforts to let account holders know, for example by email or in the product.
